Dr. Suellen Reed

Welcome:  Dr. Suellen Reed
Superintendent of Public Instruction, Indiana Department of Education

Dr. Reed is currently serving her fourth consecutive four-year term as Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction.  She has played a fundamental role in shaping major educational reform initiatives for Indiana including Indiana’s academic standards, ISTEP+ testing, Public Law 221, and the Indiana Education Roundtable.

President, International Center for Leadership in Education

Dr. Willard R. Daggett is recognized worldwide for his proven ability to move education systems towards more rigorous and relevant skills and knowledge for all students.   Dr. Daggett has worked on school reform initiatives in several states, education ministries, and educational institutions in other countries.

Luncheon Remarks:  Robert A. Compton
Executive Producer, Two Million Minutes

Robert A. Compton has had a distinguished business career as a venture capitalist, as former President of a NYSE company, as the entrepreneur founder of four companies and as an angel investor in more than a dozen businesses.  Mr. Compton has traveled the world extensively.  His trips to India in 2005 and 2006 inspired him to create the documentary Two Million Minutes.

Director,  US-China Center for Research on Educational Excellence

Dr. Zhao is University Distinguished Professor at Michigan State University. He is also the founding director of the US-China Center for Research on Educational Excellence. His research interests include diffusion and evolution of technology in educational contexts, second language acquisition, globalization and education.
