Elementary, middle, and high school educators and community members from across the state came together on January 24, 2012 for the 8th annual Indiana Conference on Learning. Many thanks to the 189 volunteers who donated their time and talent to make the 2012 conference a huge success!

| 29. | Developing a Countywide Career Expo | |
| Madison County needed to raise the awareness of post-secondary education for the success of it's students. They started by helping eighth, ninth, tenth graders understand that there were good, high paying jobs available in the community but that now was the time to become serious about education. The Madison County College Success Coalition has worked together with schools, businesses and universities to develop a County-wide Career Expo. This session will focus on how the coalition worked to develop a career expo to raise awareness within the community about the availability of high-paying jobs and the education required to obtain them. | ||

| 39. | Supporting Good Writing Instruction: The Hoosier Writing Project | |
| Learning to write well is one of the most challenging tasks for anyone. Teachers can help all students develop their skills and a love for writing. The Hoosier Writing Project, a site of the National Writing Project, works to improve writing instruction in schools using proven, research-based approaches. | ||
