SI2 Announcements

Balloons Floating on SI2 Process Pages!
Congratulations to the SI2 Schools that have balloons floating on their process pages! When schools complete the SI2 process and all tasks have a status of "meets criteria," they are rewarded with balloons in the top margin of the SI2 process page. Schools that have earned balloons by June 29th will be included on the list that ASAI submits to the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) on June 30th. IDOE recognizes the School Improvement Plans (SIPs) created through SI2 as approved and does not do a second read of SI2 SIPs.

PDF Formatted SIP
By August 1 a new tool will be added to the SI2 Process that will allow schools to download their 2015-16 School Improvement Plans as a PDF formatted document. The Steering Team should plan to review the PDF and make any needed revisions prior to sharing with the school board or School Improvement Council.

PRINCIPALS: Legal Standards for DOE
The DOE requires Legal Standards 2-11 to be completed online by June 30. However, the School Improvement Plan is not one of those standards. The SIP is Legal Standard 1 and the due date for it has yet to be announced. It is usually September 15, but DOE has indicated that ISTEP and ECA data will not be available by then. Please see page 2-3 of this memo from DOE.

PRINCIPALS: Enroll Online for 2015-16 SI2 Services - Deadline August 14
As you plan for the 2015-16 school year we hope that your school will continue using the SI2 process and online system. If you have already decided that your school will be participating in SI2 again next year to develop your 2016-17 School Improvement Plan, please take a few minutes to complete the online enrollment form. We would like all schools to enroll by August 14, 2015.

July ASAI Office Hours
During the month July (while most schools are not in session) the ASAI office is open Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00am - 4:30pm EDT and closed Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
