While we await the official word from the IDOE concerning SIP Uses categories, please make an internal informed prediction based on your most current data. Your selections in SIP Uses tailors the online system so that your school improvement plan meets all necessary state and/or federal criteria required for your school. Once official word is received from DOE, update SIP Uses (if needed) for an accurate 2017-18 SIP.

We have updated the ISTEP Standards Mastery charts in Achievement Data to reflect the 2016 ISTEP+ data your school has received. (You will recall that these data are entered into the online system by the school.) If you have already dropped in data for the 2015-16 school year in these charts, please re-visit them. We have found through our research that some Standards Mastery areas have changed. We have also added science and social studies Standards Mastery at the proper grades. Schools with Grade 10 have an additional chart for the ISTEP Standards Mastery at that level.

November is the month for the Achievement Data Point Person to enter all available achievement data. As you will recall, SI2 will auto-populate any ISTEP+ and Graduation data released publicly by IDOE. Mastery of Standards on the ISTEP+ as well as all local (in-house) data will be entered into the charts by the Point Person. Be sure to have the data finished by the end of November; it is crucial to have the most recent data available for discussions that will be held in January. It is also important to disaggregate the data as much as possible; students who many times fall through the cracks of school improvement do so because they are not clearly identified through the data. Any group with 10 or more students should be reported.

November is also the month for the self-studies to be reviewed by the Steering Team; many times this takes little editing. It is important, however, to look over the self-studies as a team in order to identify and make any needed edits.

The SI2 timeline has been designed so that all schools may complete their School Improvement Plans on the timeline set by PL221. Steering Teams are strongly urged to stay as close to that timeline as possible. If, however, your team falls behind, it is important to email or call Tina with a catch-up plan. Tina will send friendly reminders if work is past due; please remember that these reminders are to help your team stay on track.
