HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Are you ready to review and revise your way to the 2018-2019 School Improvement Plan? We are! Please read below for important information and tips to help you stay on the right track with your SI2 work.

JANUARY STEPS

You’ve spent the past semester working diligently to get the 2017-18 SIP imbedded into the school day and culture. Now is the time to look ahead and make preparations to create the 2018-19 SIP. We strongly suggest that you keep on schedule with January-April preparations and discussions in order to finish with a high quality SIP.

All achievement data should be submitted and meeting criteria in advance of the Council and Student Body discussions. By the end of the month, you’ll be submitting PAIs and SMART goals.

Note: If you haven’t already, be sure to plan all the remaining Council meetings for the year. Schedules fill up quickly--your meeting needs to be at the top of the list! Plan to follow up with Council Members who couldn't attend the in-person meeting or haven't participated in the online discussion.

In addition, the Student Body Discussion will ask students, based on looking at a compilation of student data, to determine which achievement areas they think the teachers, students, parents, and community members should work to improve next year (Student Body Prompt 4.5 in the Manual). Remember that it is vital that all students have a chance to have their opinions heard.

Please have these items submitted by the January 31 deadline.

CATCHING UP

If you find that your SIP is running behind schedule, now is the time to set up a conference call with the Steering Team and Tina in order to put a catch-up plan in place. Now that January has arrived, the process will accelerate with Teams and Councils coming together to analyze several types of data, setting SMART goals, and refining/creating Interventions for the 2018-19 school year. Start the New Year off on a good foot and "Friendly Reminder" free!
