CONGRATULATIONS!

Nearly all of the U1-U3 schools have completed their SIPs! Great work keeping to the timeline while involving your full councils and student bodies in creating data-driven plans that will be implemented with integrity next year!

For everyone still working, keep going! You're well on your way to seeing those balloons on the VTA Process page.

ENROLL IN SI2 FOR 2018-2019

We hope to have your school back for another year of SI2! The 2018-2019 enrollment form is available at asainstitute.org/si2renew.

LOOKING FOR NEW SCHOOLS TO JOIN US

We will be opening up a new cohort for the fall of 2018; if there are any schools in your district that would like to join us, please have them contact Tina soon! As we've done in recent years, ASAI will be awarding a limited number of grants to schools joining SI2 for the first time. These grants will cover each school's first year in SI2. Please share the application with any school who might be interested in joining SI2: asainstitute.org/si2grantapp.

SUBMITTING SIP TO IDOE

We will publish information as to when the IDOE opens the window for SIP submissions as soon as that word is received.

USING THE SCHOOL'S SIP FOR PLANNING

All that diligent work has gone into your school's SIP; now you have an easy-to-read and follow PDF for your use. You can always go to your school's VTA process page, scroll down the tabs (color buttons on the left), and click on SIP Archive. You will see two columns. You can click on the ASAI approved document in regard to the appropriate year. Print out and then be sure and share the document with your colleagues as you plan out a successful 2018-19 school year.

CATCHING UP--TIME FOR A CONFERENCE CALL / WORK SESSION WITH TINA

If you find that your SIP is running behind schedule, now is the time to set up a conference call with the Steering Team and Tina in order to put a catch-up plan in place. June has arrived--it is essential that throughout this month your Team works diligently to get all items up-to-date in order to finish the plan on time. Plan to finish up by June 25 in order to be added to the ASAI-approved list we'll be sending to IDOE.

TINA'S OFFICE HOURS

Tina will be working regular hours of 8-2 on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays throughout the month of June. She is available from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesdays. The ASAI office is closed on Fridays in June.

PLANNING AHEAD FOR SPRING 2018 ACHIEVEMENT DATA COLLECTION

Now is a great time to be looking ahead on how to gather achievement data for the 2017-18 school year. When the teachers turn in grades, supply them with a Google doc or Excel sheet (or whatever method you use) with all the disaggregated groups you drop in for grade level data--Mastery Grades. The teachers can write in data on hard copy, and then it's just a matter of data entry instead of having to search out all this information.
