WE HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A SMOOTH ISTEP+ WEEK!

MARCH STEPS

The design of the 2018-19 SIP is now well underway. PAIs and SMART goals have been determined, and discussions have been held on what is inhibiting positive movement of the achievement data along with identifying the Root Causes. Now we arrive at March--a month for hosting Council and Student Body discussions that will lead up to creating/revising Interventions for the 2018-19 SIP. The following steps outline the work plan for Teams during March:

The Student Body Discussion will ask students, “What interventions should we put in place next year to address the areas that are interfering with learning?”
Reminder: It is vital that all students have a chance to have their opinions heard.

The Council, after looking at the current Interventions, will vote to see if the Intervention should continue or be omitted. There will also be an option to make revisions as needed. Additionally, this will be a time for any new Interventions to be added to the plan.
Reminder: Intervention decisions are not made in seclusion; they are a culmination of studying Achievement Data, setting Goals, and determining Root Causes.

The items needed for submission in March include: Student Body Discussion 5 summary; Council 5 summary; Post-Discussion Tasks. Please have these items submitted by the March 31 deadline.

BI-WEEKLY REMINDERS

Beginning in March, schools will begin receiving Friendly Reminders twice monthly in order to encourage on-time completion of the SIP. Finish your SIP before students and teachers are gone for the summer!

CATCHING UP

If you find that your SIP is running behind schedule, now is the time to set up a conference call with the Steering Team and Tina in order to put a catch-up plan in place. March has arrived--it is essential that throughout this month your Team works diligently to get all items up-to-date in order to finish the plan on time.
