Indiana Gold Star
School Counseling Award
ASAI helps schools prepare their Indiana Gold Star School Counseling Portfolio to document the school's compliance with the Indiana Program Standards for School Counseling. This portfolio may be submitted to the Indiana Department of Education as an application for DOE's "Gold Star School Counseling Award."
Schools wishing to receive the "Indiana Gold Star School Counseling Award should submit their Gold Star School Counseling portfolio to Matt Fleck at the Indiana Department of Education no later than June 30th of each calendar year (Room 229, State House, Indianapolis, IN 46204).
The portfolios are reviewed by a team of trained reviewers in July of each year using a Gold Star School Counseling Award Rubric that is based on the Indiana Program Standards for School Counseling. The awards are announced in August and presented in November at the Indiana School Counselor Association Conference. Schools must resubmit their portfolios every three years to maintain their award.
